Remediation Manager - Professional

Where Does All The Time Go?

The top priority for IT managers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year is keeping their organization's business operation running smoothly. Their next priority is the deployment of new technologies that will enable their organization to build or maintain a competitive advantage.

In the midst of all of these efforts there remains the need to ensure that the organization's computing platforms are secure and do not jeopardize information security related compliance objectives.

Unfortunately, there are typically insufficient resources to address all of these matters. As a result, the security posture of the organization often suffers.

But it does not have to be that way...

Where Do I Turn For Help?

Digital Defense (DDI) recognizes organizations are under increasing amounts of pressure to do more with less. Intense competition, combined with poor economic conditions, already places a great deal of strain on an organization. Roll in new regulations and a dynamic cyber-threat landscape and a tough circumstance can quickly become overwhelming.

To help organizations cope with this endless onslaught, DDI has developed a new service offering designed to help our clients remediate security vulnerabilities on their computing platforms. The new service offering, DDI Remediation Manager — Professional (RM-Pro), improves a client's network security posture, reduces loading on their IT staff, and allows the organization to focus on other key IT business functions.

With the addition of the DDI RM-Pro service component, DDI not only identifies what needs to be done, but also provides an action plan whereby DDI resources will securely remediate discovered vulnerabilities on behalf of the client.

Vulnerability Scanning Services

In order to assess the security posture and required remediation activities, DDI will perform a series of vulnerability scans of the target computing environment. The scanning services will identify all active devices within the client network, including the active ports, services and vulnerabilities found on each computing platform.

DDI security analysts will then review all assessment results with a focus on prioritization and categorization of all vulnerabilities and remediation recommendations. Upon completion of these steps, DDI security analysts will have all the relevant security information to move to the remediation phase of this service.

"Pre- and Post-" Remediation Report

Prior to starting any remediation activity, DDI security analysts will work with the client to determine which systems, if any, they would prefer to omit from the program (critical business systems, etc.), as well as those DDI security analysts believe will present too much business operation risk to address via this program. Next, the security analysts will provide clients with a clear, written project plan outlining the remediation steps they plan to take to address the discovered vulnerabilities. The plan will include an outline of all the systems within the scope of the program, the activities that will occur with those systems, support required from the client, and the expected duration of the effort.

After the DDI security analyst has received approval from the client to execute the agreed to plan, the security analyst will complete the remediation actions and review the results with the client.

Detailed Audit Trail Notes

In the course of remediating security vulnerabilities, DDI security analysts will document all actions taken within the DDI Frontline Solutions Portal (FSP). DDI will populate host and vulnerability notes within the FSP so that a detailed audit trail of changes made to affected systems is available for the client.

The notes are available online from the FSP, via reports available in multiple formats, as well as via the FSP's robust Application Programming Interface (API).
