Digital Defense has a team of security analysts who conduct both pure and applied security vulnerabilities research. Pure research, by our definition, is the discovery of vulnerabilities through theoretical and lab analysis of network architectures and/or devices that may introduce vulnerabilities into a network. Applied research is the discovery of new vulnerabilities while performing security services (such as, penetration testing) for a Digital Defense client.
The responsibilities of our analysts include both cross-industry and market-specific vulnerability research. Cross-industry vulnerability research involves evaluation of platforms that are found in virtually every market, whereas market-specific vulnerability research entails evaluation of platforms that are used in specific market applications (such as, the core processing systems used by financial institutions).
When Digital Defense discovers new vulnerabilities, we post advisories to help organizations secure their computing networks against unauthorized access. For more information about a particular advisory, please contact us at support@ddifrontline.com.
