History

Digital Defense, Inc. was founded in December 1999 and commenced operations in January 2000. Unlike other firms in the security industry, Digital Defense was not an offshoot of another business line.  Our mission was the delivery of affordable security solutions to clients of all sizes, initially focused on the financial services sector.  Today our mission remains the same, and we effectively serve financial institutions with assets from $10 million to over $25 billion, and other clients ranging from small businesses to multinational Fortune 1000 enterprises.  Our proven scalability is a direct result of an ongoing, focused investment in our multi-application service delivery platform and our cost-effective Application Service Provider (ASP) business model.

Our Services

Digital Defense offers security compliance and business risk management services to clients utilizing a proprietary Security Information Management (SIM) platform.  We provide these services either on a subscription basis or as stand-alone projects.

Our current subscription-based services include on-demand Host Discovery and Vulnerability Assessment, risk and threat-based Asset Prioritization, and Vulnerability Management aided by online remediation help from both internal and third-party sources (such as, Mitre, OSVDB, etc.).  We also offer Security Training courses on a subscription basis for both our clients' staff as well as their online patrons.

Our project-based services include Policy Reviews, Social Engineering Tests, Enterprise Risk Assessments and other general security consulting solutions.  In addition, our Anti-Phishing solutions and four levels of Penetration Testing are available as either a short-term project or a subscription service.

Our Delivery Methodology

Digital Defense delivers a range of industry-standard security services, designed to fit the unique needs of organizations of any size or budget.  Clients can customize each service to meet market-specific demands or compliance-oriented requirements.

Our on-demand Host Discovery Scans, Vulnerability Scans and Lifecycle Management, and Penetration Tests are powered by our proprietary, third-generation service delivery platform, known as the Network Security Awareness System (NSAS™).  Clients can easily access all results through our flagship product, the Frontline™ Security Compliance secure web portal. Future services will be integrated into this platform, providing you with a growing array of service offerings through a common, secure Web interface.

Clients currently utilize our NSAS SIM architecture to access auditor reports, schedule host discoveries and vulnerability assessments, and track and report on remediation progress.  They perform these tasks through the Frontline interface, enabling them to fulfill their security compliance requirements with relative ease and enjoy a maintenance-free, service-based solution.

The NSAS SIM architecture also provides our clients with access to ActiveView™, our premier workflow management system.  ActiveView allows remediation tasks to be monitored on hosts in offices around the block or around the world.  By virtue of our adherence to the emerging Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) standards, NSAS and Frontline provide enhanced integration with help desk, ticketing, and patch management systems.
